Michael Stevenson, Deputy General Counsel

Mr. Stevenson joined the PCAOB staff in June 2003 and has been Deputy General Counsel since March 2007. He came to the PCAOB after eight years with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where he worked both in the Division of Enforcement and in the Legal Policy Group of the Office of the General Counsel. Before joining the SEC staff, Mr. Stevenson practiced at the law firm of Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering and at the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. Mr. Stevenson received his B.A. from Michigan State University and is a cum laude graduate of Wayne State University Law School, where he was Articles Editor of the Law Review. Following law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Cornelia G. Kennedy of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
